Global hotel groups adopt common protocol for identifying trafficking in properties

Major hospitality chains standardise staff training and reporting procedures for identifying trafficking victims, covering 4 million rooms worldwide.
Twelve international hotel groups adopted a unified protocol for recognising and reporting human trafficking indicators, with mandatory annual training for front-line staff and standardised escalation to specialist NGOs and law enforcement.
The protocol also addresses labour trafficking within hotel supply chains — housekeeping subcontractors and agency staffing — where debt-bonded labour has repeatedly been documented.
