National Assembly building in Seoul

The National Assembly takes up legislation modelled on the EU directive, extending Korea's ESG disclosure regime into mandatory human rights due diligence.

South Korean lawmakers introduced a supply chain due diligence bill covering companies above ₩500 billion in revenue, with obligations closely tracking the EU CSDDD to minimise duplicative compliance for Korea's export-oriented conglomerates.

Business groups signalled conditional support, citing the advantage of a single global compliance architecture over divergent national regimes.
