Annual transparency benchmarking shows dramatic gains in supply chain visibility, driven by regulation — but raw material origins remain a blind spot.
The annual supply chain transparency benchmark finds the average large brand can now identify suppliers to tier three, a transformation from 2020 when most visibility stopped at direct suppliers. Regulatory mandates are cited as the primary driver.
The remaining gap sits at raw material origin: fewer than one in five companies can trace commodities like cotton, cocoa or mica to the farm or mine level where forced labour risk concentrates.
